This is The Alley located in downtown Aiken, South Carolina. At one time this backstreet was a place to do horse trading and contained horse sheds, blacksmiths, a wagon factory, a harness shop and a wheelwright. Today the area is still a center of activity. You'll find entertainment, restaurants, bars, special events, live music and friends. This photograph was taken right before dawn.

Yesterdays light has faded
Today dawns with a day anew
Tomorrow morning ripples with promise.

A unique shaped lifeguard station with blue and yellow color faces the sunrise just off of 14th street along the shore of Miami Beach Florida. All along Miami's South Beach and Miami Beach near the Art Deco District, lifeguard stands not only act as important landmarks and gathering points on beaches, but have become visual icons.

Looking south, more-or-less, from Blue Mountain in Linden, Virginia, on a cold January afternoon. Snow on the ground, rime ice in the trees, and pretty clouds overhead...
Blue Mountain is on the eastern edge of the Blue Ridge mountains, straddling the Warren-Fauquier County line.

The Rappahannock River runs right next to the lovely city of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and the city provides several access points so residents and visitors can enjoy the beautiful river. While the “Rappahannock Autumn” images may appear to be photographs taken out in the wilds, they were actually all captured within an easy walk from the city’s historic downtown. I took these photographs in mid-October 2021. I love the gentle autumn colors and the textures of the rocks that line the river bed; I was also fortunate to have beautiful skies overhead to add a little touch of drama to the scene.

Banyon Tree at Marie Selby Gardens



These beautiful majestic banyan trees at Marie Selby Gardens, Sarasota, Florida, stand tall and wide as sentries by the path to the beautiful landscape and gardens. The Marie Selby Botanical Gardens is a 15-acre (6.1 ha) botanical garden located at 900 South Palm Avenue in Sarasota, Florida. The Gardens are located on the grounds of the former home of Marie and William Selby.

Our pink moth orchid (phalaenopsis) shimmers in the early morning light. I love how this perspective portrays the light shining through the blossoms contrasting with the shadows of the blinds.

Watson Mill Bridge State Park located near Comer, Georgia is the home of the longest original-site covered bridge in Georgia, spanning 229 feet over the South Fork River. The bridge was built in 1885 by Washington King, son of freed slave and bridge builder Horace King. The bridge is supported by a town lattice truss system held together with wooden pins.

This is a view of the fishing pier at the Shell Mound Archaeological Site, along along the Gulf of Mexico on Florida's Big Bend coast, near Cedar Key. The coastline in this area is marshy, with brackish channels leading out into the Gulf waters, and only small stretches of sand beach along the shore.

This is a very dry Bridal Veil Falls near Highlands, North Carolina. Bridal Veil Falls was known for generations as the only waterfall in North Carolina you could drive behind but is now blocked off from traffic. This 45 to 60 foot waterfall in the Nantahala National Forest is located right along US Highway 64 and is easily accessible to all travelers.

No supply chain issues here! This pink, container ship owned by Ocean Network Express (ONE) of Japan is loaded to the max. Here the ship is headed up the south channel of the Savannah River near Tybee Island, Georgia.
